Game Details:

Date: October 13th, 2024

Time: 4:25 PM ET

Location: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC

Broadcast: FOX

Falcons’ Advantages:

Offensive Firepower: The Falcons boast a high-powered offense led by quarterback Kirk Cousins. With weapons like Kyle Pitts and Drake London, Atlanta’s offense is primed to make big plays and put up points quickly.

Defensive Strength: The Falcons’ defense, anchored by Grady Jarrett and A.J. Terrell, has shown significant improvement. Their ability to disrupt the Panthers’ game plan and force turnovers will be key.

Special Teams Edge: Younghoe Koo, the reliable kicker, has a knack for making clutch kicks. In a close game, special teams can be the difference-maker.

Falcons’ Disadvantages:

Inconsistency: The Falcons have struggled with consistency this season. They’ve shown flashes of brilliance but need to maintain that level of play throughout the game.

Injury Concerns: Injuries to key players have been a concern. The depth of the roster will be tested, and the backups will need to step up.

What to Watch For:

Quarterback Duel: Kirk Cousins versus Andy Dalton will be a key battle to watch. Cousins’ ability to make quick decisions and accurate throws will be crucial, while Dalton will look to exploit any weaknesses in the Falcons’ defense.

Third-Down Efficiency: Converting on third downs will be crucial for both teams. The team that excels in this area will likely have the upper hand.

Special Teams Impact: Special teams play can often be a game-changer. Field position, punt returns, and field goals will play a significant role in determining the outcome.

Key Players to Watch:

Kyle Pitts: The Falcons’ tight end is a matchup nightmare. His speed, size, and hands make him a top target and a key player to watch.

Bijan Robinson. This could be the breakout game we have ALL been looking for!

Grady Jarrett: The anchor of the defensive line, Jarrett’s ability to disrupt plays in the backfield will be essential.

Younghoe Koo: The reliable kicker who can deliver in pressure situations. His accuracy will be vital in a close game.

Personal Insight on the Game:

While it seems that the Falcons should easily win this game, we all know how the trap games are. I fully expect a Kirk Cousins lead Falcons team to be a lot more dangerous than what we have had with Arthur Smith and freaking Desmond Ridder. I also see Bijan Robinson finally have his break out game since Derrick Brown and Shaq Thompson are not playing. If you remember last year, Derrick Brown was the one having to run down Bijan Robinson before he broke it for 50 yards. Will the 500 yard perfromance from last week carry over to this week? We will have to see but all the good teams find ways to win these games. This is a big game even though its not vs the toughest opponent!
